Shaded eyeliner in Dubai is a semi-permanent eyeliner tattoo done with a stippling technique. Instead of one crisp line, the artist builds tiny dots of pigment that are densest at the base of the lashes and soften as they move outwards. The healed result looks like eyeliner smudged with a brush: definition without a hard edge.
It can be a whisper of shadow that just makes the lashes look thicker, or a deeper smoky line with a small lifted wing. Either way it does not run, smudge or come off in the pool or the gym.
The technique matters on the eyelid in particular. Lid skin is thin and moves constantly, and a heavy solid line can look harsh as the skin ages. Stippling places less pigment per area and blends it, which is why shaded liner keeps looking soft years later and suits hooded eyes, where a hard line tends to break when the eye is open.

The appointment is booked as a 1.5-hour slot.
We look at your eye shape and lids and agree how soft or smoky the result should be, and whether you want a wing.
The shape is drawn on and checked with your eyes open and closed, so the line works in both positions.
Numbing is applied for comfort throughout the procedure.
The artist builds pigment dot by dot at the lash base, then softens it outwards.
We review symmetry together and adjust before finishing.
You leave with balm, instructions and a top-up date 4–6 weeks later.

How to Prepare for Shaded Eyeliner

How Long Does Shaded Eyeliner Last?
Shaded eyeliner usually lasts 1 to 3 years, depending on skin type, sun exposure and aftercare. The shadow softens gradually; the part at the lash base fades last.
We recommend the top-up 4–6 weeks after the first session and a refresh roughly once a year to keep the smoky effect.
If you have an old eyeliner tattoo that has spread or turned bluish, tell us at the consultation. Soft shading can sometimes be built over light old work; a strong old line may need to fade or be treated first, and we will tell you honestly what is possible.

Eyeliner That Survives the Dubai Heat
Pencil and gel liner have a hard time in Dubai: heat, humidity outdoors and dry air conditioning indoors make them smudge, transfer onto the upper lid or disappear by the afternoon. A tattooed shaded liner stays exactly where it was placed — at the beach, in the gym, on a long-haul flight.
The trade-off is sun. UV fades eyeliner like any other PMU, so sunglasses are worth the habit, and they protect the delicate skin around the eyes anyway.
Because shaded eyeliner is soft by design, it is also the most forgiving when it starts to fade: it simply becomes a lighter shadow, not a broken line. Many clients wait 12–18 months before a refresh for exactly that reason.

Simple rules, but they protect the result.
No water, sweat, steam or sauna near the eyes for the first week.
No mascara, eyeliner or shadow on the treated area until it has healed.
Do not rub, scratch or pick the line; pat any moisture gently with a clean tissue.
Use only the balm we give you, a tiny amount along the line.
Protect the area from sun; once healed, wear sunglasses outdoors.
Wear glasses for the first days instead of contact lenses.

Not with an active eye infection, conjunctivitis or a stye — wait until it has cleared.
We postpone eyeliner tattooing until after nursing.
Clotting conditions or blood thinners need a doctor’s note first.
If your skin forms keloids, eyeliner tattooing is not recommended.
Stop and wait 6 months before the procedure.
Remove extensions and avoid lash lifts and eye makeup for 48 hours before.
