What Is Permanent Lip Liner?
Permanent lip liner in Dubai is a semi-permanent tattoo along the border of the lips. The artist uses a fine needle to place pigment exactly on — or very slightly outside — your natural lip line, so the lips get a clear edge that stays in place all day and through meals.
It is the right choice when the colour of your lips is fine but the outline is not: a faded or blurred border, an uneven cupid’s bow, one side fuller than the other, or lipstick that bleeds into fine lines around the mouth. The liner can be soft and blended into the lip or a little more defined — the shade and intensity are agreed in advance.
Permanent lip liner only works on the edge. If you also want colour inside the lips, it is usually combined with lip blush; if the lips are dark, start with neutralization.
A well-placed liner follows your natural border. We do not draw far outside the lip line: an over-drawn tattooed edge looks obvious once the colour inside fades, and it is harder to correct later than to add a little more definition at the top-up.

The appointment is booked as a 1-hour slot.
We check the lips for cold sores and old tattoo and agree how soft or defined the line should be.
The artist draws the border with a pencil, balancing any asymmetry, and you approve it in the mirror.
The liner shade is chosen to match your natural lip colour, so it looks like a defined lip, not a drawn line.
Numbing cream is applied before and during the procedure.
With a fine needle the artist places pigment along the line, softening it towards the inside of the lip.
You get the balm, written instructions and a top-up date 4–6 weeks later.

How to Prepare for Your Lip Appointment
A few days of preparation make the lips bleed less and hold more colour.
Moisturise your lips every day; dry, flaky lips take pigment unevenly.
If you have ever had a cold sore, ask your doctor about an antiviral course before the appointment.
Pause fish oil, vitamin E and other blood-thinning supplements (only if your doctor agrees).
No alcohol or coffee.
No lip filler; if you plan filler, do it first and come to us once it has settled.
Come without lipstick. If you have a favourite lip shade, bring it — it helps colour matching.

A line heals faster than a full lip, but it goes through the same stages.
Mild swelling and tenderness along the border are normal; the line looks darker and thicker than planned.
The line dries and flakes. Let it come off on its own.
Surface healing is done. The line can look lighter or slightly patchy.
The line settles and the final definition becomes visible.
Time for the top-up to close any gaps and adjust the intensity.

How Long Does Permanent Lip Liner Last?
Permanent lip liner usually lasts 1 to 3 years, depending on your skin, sun exposure and habits. Smoking and lip exfoliators shorten it.
Because it is a line and not a fill, fading shows as a softer edge first. Most clients come back for a refresh once the border stops looking sharp, and the top-up price depends on how long it has been since the first session.

Aftercare is the same as for any lip tattoo.
Keep the lips moist with the aftercare balm for the first days; never let them crack.
Avoid kissing, hot drinks and spicy or salty food for the first 48 hours.
No peeling, biting or scrubbing; let the skin come off naturally.
No lipstick, gloss or other balms apart from the one we give you until the lips have healed.
No direct sun, swimming, sauna or steam for 2 weeks; then use a lip SPF outdoors.
Use a straw for the first days and rinse the lips gently with clean water after meals.

Lips are a sensitive area. If any of these apply, tell us when you book.
Not during an outbreak — wait until it has fully healed (2+ weeks). If you get cold sores, take an antiviral course before the appointment as your doctor prescribes.
We postpone lip tattooing until after nursing.
Wait at least 4 weeks after filler so the shape settles.
Stop and wait 6 months before lip tattooing.
Not while there is an active flare.
Uncontrolled diabetes or clotting disorders need a doctor’s note first.
