What Is Microblading?
Microblading in Dubai at Brows & Lips is a manual brow tattoo: the artist uses a hand tool with a fine blade made of 12–16 tiny needles and draws individual hair strokes into the upper layer of the skin. Each stroke follows the direction your own hairs grow, so the healed brow reads as hair, not as a filled-in shape.
It is the technique for people who like their brows but want more of them: thin tails, gaps after years of plucking, one brow sitting higher than the other, or a shape that never looks the same two mornings in a row. Microblading is semi-permanent — the pigment fades over one to two years, which means the shape can be adjusted as your face and taste change.

Your Appointment
Microblading Procedure Step by Step
The appointment is booked as a 2-hour slot. Most of that time goes into the shape — the part you will live with for the next year.
We look at your skin type, old tattoo if any, and what you want your brows to do. This is when we decide whether microblading is the right technique at all.
The artist measures your face and draws the shape with a pencil. You check it in the mirror, ask for changes and approve it.
Pigment is mixed to your hair colour and skin undertone, so the brows heal to a natural brown and not to grey or red.
Numbing cream sits on the brows for 10–20 minutes. Most clients describe what follows as scratching rather than pain.
Stroke by stroke, the artist draws hairs inside the approved shape with a sterile, single-use blade.
You leave with the balm and a written plan for the next 10 days, and we book your top-up date.
Before Your Visit
How to Prepare for Microblading
Good preparation means less bleeding during the procedure, and less bleeding means more pigment stays in the skin. These are the rules we give every microblading client.
No coffee, energy drinks or alcohol — they thin the blood and make the skin bleed more.
Pause fish oil, vitamin E and other blood-thinning supplements (only if your doctor agrees).
No waxing, threading or tinting of the brows. Let us see your natural hair.
No Botox or filler around the brows, and no peels or tanning on the area.
Come with clean, makeup-free brows. If you like your current brow makeup, bring a photo of it.
Avoid booking right before a beach holiday or an important event — give it 2 weeks.

Healing Day by Day
Microblading Healing Timeline
Fresh microblading looks sharper and darker than the healed result. Knowing what each stage looks like saves you a lot of mirror-checking.
Brows look bold and slightly darker than planned, the skin can be a little red. Blot any clear fluid with a clean tissue and keep the area dry.
The skin feels tight and starts to flake. Do not pick or scratch — the flakes carry pigment, and pulling them early leaves gaps.
Flaking finishes. The strokes can look patchy or much lighter for a few days: the new skin layer is milky and hides the colour underneath.
Colour comes back gradually and evens out. This is the time to judge shape, not intensity.
The final healed colour is visible. Now we can see what needs refining at the top-up.
Brows stay stable; sun, oily skin and exfoliating skincare decide how quickly they fade.
Durability
How Long Does Microblading Last?
Microblading usually lasts 1 to 2 years. On oily skin the strokes soften sooner, often in 12–18 months; dry skin can hold them for 2–3 years. The pigment does not disappear overnight — it fades gradually, and the strokes become softer and lighter.
Three things shorten the life of microbladed brows in Dubai more than anything else: daily sun without SPF, retinol or acid skincare that reaches the brows, and frequent sauna or swimming. A top-up 4–6 weeks after the first session sets the strokes; after that, most clients refresh once a year.
Is microblading permanent? No — and that is a feature. Brow fashion and your own face change, and a semi-permanent tattoo lets the shape change with them.
Living in Dubai
Microblading in the UAE Climate
Dubai is hard on any brow tattoo. Strong sun all year, air conditioning that dries the skin, sweat, swimming pools and frequent travel all speed up fading. None of this means microblading will not last — it means the routine around it matters more than in a cooler climate.
The simplest habits give the biggest difference: SPF on the brows whenever you are outdoors once they have healed, keeping retinol and acid serums away from the brow area, and patting the brows dry after the gym or pool instead of rubbing them.
If summer is your season for long beach holidays, book microblading so that the first two weeks of healing and your top-up fall before you travel. Many of our clients plan the first session in spring and the top-up 4–6 weeks later.
Maintain Your Brows
Microblading Aftercare
Most microblading problems we see are aftercare problems. The first 10 days decide how much pigment stays.
No water, sweat, steam or sauna on the brows for the first week.
Use only the aftercare balm we give you, a rice-grain amount, on clean dry brows.
No picking, scratching or rubbing the flakes; let them fall off on their own.
Keep foundation, brow products and serums off the area until it has fully healed.
No direct sun, swimming or heavy workouts for 10 days, then SPF on the brows outdoors.
Retinol, AHA and peels near the brows speed up fading; keep them away for a month.
Safety First
Contraindications: When We Postpone
Some conditions do not rule brows out forever, but they change healing and pigment retention. If any of these apply, tell us before you book — we would rather move the date than redo the work.
We postpone brow tattooing until after nursing.
Stop and wait 6 months; skin treated with them heals unpredictably and bleeds more.
Not while there is an active flare in the brow area.
Wait 2 weeks so the brow position settles before we map the shape.
Uncontrolled diabetes or clotting disorders need a doctor’s note first.
Skip fish oil and vitamin E for 48 hours, caffeine and alcohol for 24 hours before the appointment.

Microblading
Hair-stroke brows that mimic real brow hairs with unmatched realism. Ideal for normal-to-dry skin and clients who want a soft, realistic "I just have good brows" finish.
Powder Brows
A pixel-shaded gradient that's lighter at the front and deeper at the tail — looks like a soft brow powder fill. Lasts longer than classic microblading and is ideal for oily or mature skin.
Ombre Brows
A smooth gradient that's darker at the tail and lighter at the front. More defined than powder brows with visible dimension. Perfect for clients who want bold, statement brows that still look soft.
Nanoblading

At Brows & Lips microblading costs AED 2,000. A top-up 1–4 months later is AED 500; later top-ups are AED 700–1,000 depending on how much time has passed.
We apply numbing cream for 10–20 minutes first. Most clients feel scratching and pressure rather than pain; the inner brow is usually the most sensitive spot.
Usually 1–2 years. Oily skin fades faster (often 12–18 months), dry skin can hold strokes for 2–3 years. A yearly refresh keeps them crisp.
It is a type of eyebrow tattoo, but shallower and drawn as single hairs with a hand tool, so it looks finer and fades out instead of turning blue-grey like an old solid brow tattoo.
Neither is better in general. Microblading suits normal to dry skin; nano brows (nanoblading) are done with a machine and hold better on oily skin. We decide at the consultation.
The surface heals in 7–14 days; the final colour shows at 4–6 weeks. Book the top-up after that.
Only if the old tattoo is light. Dark or warm-toned old work needs saline or laser removal first — we have a repair package that combines removals and new brows.
