What Is Vitiligo Camouflage?
Vitiligo camouflage in Dubai is micropigmentation that places pigment matched to your skin tone into white patches caused by vitiligo, so they blend better with the surrounding skin. It is not a treatment for vitiligo itself — it does not stop the condition or restore your own pigment — but it can make stable patches much less visible.
It is most often used on small, visible areas: around the lips, on the lip line, around the eyes, on the hands or on patches on the face. On the brows and lips, vitiligo camouflage can be combined with permanent makeup techniques — for example, restoring colour to a white patch on the lip with a tone close to your natural lip colour.
The most important condition is stability. In active vitiligo, new patches appear or existing ones grow, and skin injury — including tattooing — can trigger new patches in some people. That is why we only work on vitiligo that has been stable for a long time, ideally confirmed by your dermatologist, and always start with a small test area.
Two different things are often mixed up. Camouflaging a patch of skin means adding skin-tone pigment to the white area. Doing brows or lips for someone with vitiligo means restoring the colour of a feature that has lost it — for example white brow hairs or pale patches on the lip line. We do both, but the planning is different, and the first step is always a patch test.
We take time with these consultations. You can bring your dermatologist’s notes or photos of the patches over the last year — they help us judge stability, which matters more for a good result than anything we do with the needle.
Matching colour is harder than in any other procedure, because the surrounding skin changes with the seasons. We mix colour in daylight and build it up gradually.

How Long Does Vitiligo Camouflage Last?
The pigment usually lasts several years, softening gradually. Depigmented skin can hold colour less evenly, so top-ups are a normal part of the plan — the first one is advised 4–6 weeks after the initial session.
Your natural skin around the patches changes colour with sun exposure; the camouflaged patch does not tan. Daily SPF keeps the match closer all year round.
If vitiligo becomes active again, new patches can appear next to treated ones. Camouflage does not prevent that.
Vitiligo is a condition that can change. If it is active and spreading, pigment may be placed on skin that later changes colour around it. That is why we work only on stable vitiligo, ideally with your dermatologist’s agreement, and why camouflage is a cosmetic solution, not a treatment of the condition itself.

On stable patches, camouflage reduces the contrast between white skin and your natural skin tone. The most visible effect is on small areas like the lip line, around the mouth or eyes, where even a little colour makes a big difference to how the face reads.
Perfect, all-season matching is not realistic. Your own skin darkens in summer and lightens in winter, while the pigment stays the same. We aim for a tone that works most of the year and recommend daily SPF to keep the difference small.
