Steps to Improve The Shape and Colour of Your Lips

Semi-permanent lip blushing involves the application of pigment to the lips — much like a soft, natural lip stain that won't budge. If you want your lips to appear full and gorgeous, choosing the perfect shade for your lip shape and skin tone is essential. Our Lip Blush and Permanent Lip Liner services are designed to define, symmetrically shape, and naturally colour your lips, including subtle contouring for added dimension.

Who Should Perform the Shaping of Your Lips?

This procedure should never be performed by an inexperienced artist or a non-specialist. Take the time to research thoroughly and review the artist's portfolio before committing. Ask plenty of questions and request before-and-after images. Changing your lips is a sensitive process — do not proceed until you feel completely confident in your artist's skill and safety measures.

What Happens During a Lip Blushing Treatment?

Begin by sitting down with your expert to discuss every aspect of the procedure. Describe the colour you want and bring a reference picture — your favourite lip liner or a lipstick shade you love. Your artist will check that your skin tone and lip shape complement the chosen pigment, as natural undertones play a significant role in the final result.

For clients with naturally darker lips, a technique called lip neutralisation is used first. Warm-toned pigments are carefully deposited to counterbalance the darkness, creating a clean canvas for the desired colour.

While the primary goal of lip blushing is to add fullness and symmetry, it is important to understand that professionals cannot completely remove the natural lip border, and exaggerating the lips beyond their natural shape is not the artist's aim. Through a process called mapping, the artist outlines the lips with a nude liner to define the area to be flushed. Since every pair of lips is unique in texture, tone, and quality, the technique is adapted individually. The final result is completely sealed and waterproof.

Is Lip Blushing Painful?

To ensure your comfort, a topical anaesthetic is applied to the lips, starting at the edges and working across the entire surface. This helps alleviate discomfort, control bleeding, and minimise swelling. Using a computerised PMU device with a sterile nano-needle, the pigment is carefully deposited into the first layer of lip tissue with great precision. This pixelation technique implants microscopic dots to build coverage and colour density layer by layer. As additional colour is added, the pigment becomes richer and more saturated. The meticulous attention required during this stage accounts for most of the procedure time. After the session — which typically takes about one hour — a soothing healing balm is applied to your lips for immediate comfort.
